Search for free billing software and every result claims a free-forever plan. The question worth asking is what the paid plan costs when your shop outgrows the free one, and whether anyone will put their name to it. Two answers we can give plainly.

Free retail billing software — the usual questions
Is Auromine Retail POS really free?
Yes. Every shop starts with a 21-day free trial of the complete product, no card. When the 21 days end nothing stops working — if you have not bought a licence the shop moves onto the free plan and carries on billing. Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked behind a paywall.
What happens on day 22 if I do not buy?
The shop drops to the free plan and keeps billing. Your products, customers, suppliers and every bill you have raised stay exactly where they are. You only lose the paid extras — the higher limits and the extra users.
What does the paid plan cost if I do outgrow it?
₹699 a year per shop for mobile billing, ₹999 for the web app, ₹1,499 for both, and ₹4,999 for five users. Per shop, per year, excluding GST. That is roughly a tenth of what the better-known Indian billing apps charge for their paid tier.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Billing at the counter works offline on every plan including the free one, and syncs when the connection returns. A dropped line or a power cut does not stop you issuing a bill.
Can I use a barcode scanner and a thermal printer?
Yes. Any USB or Bluetooth scanner that types will work, and printing supports silent 2-inch, 3-inch and 4-inch label output as well as A4. Shelf and product labels print from the same screen.
Does the free plan print GST invoices?
Yes. CGST and SGST split for intra-state, IGST for inter-state, tax-inclusive or exclusive rates, round-off and the amount in words. GSTR-1 and 3B summary output is included.
Which shops is it for?
Supermarkets and grocery, apparel and footwear, mobile and electronics, hardware, gift and stationery, restaurants and general stores. Batch and expiry tracking is there for shops that need it.
Can I move my existing data in?
Yes. Products, categories, parties and opening balances import from Excel or CSV, and everything exports the same way, so you are never locked in. Assisted migration from another biller is a one-off ₹2,999.
Does it work in Tamil?
Yes. Menus, dashboard and buttons switch instantly between Tamil, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Arabic, French and Spanish. Invoices stay in English, which is what a tax document expects.
